Experience:

1998-present: Owner of Wingspan Construction, Gordo LLC, and NetZero LLC providing residential and commercial construction services. Myself and my crews have built and remodeled dozens of buildings in New Mexico including custom homes and a community center. We specialize in green building.

1998-2015: Owner and manager of Fat Duck Farm in Ribera, NM, producing premium quality organic vegetables, flowers, meat and dairy products.

2003-2018: Founder and president of Food and Shelter Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to education and research in the fields of sustainable agriculture, architecture, and land restoration.

2010-2014: Mayordomo of San Miguel del Bado Acequia Association, Ribera, NM


Grants and awards:

2009 – River Ecosystem Restoration Grant from New Mexico Environment Department

for river improvement and creation of fish habitat.

2010 – Grant from McCune foundation for restoration work on the Pecos river.

2006-2007 Two year grant from McCune foundation to run a 6 week residential

summer sustainability institute for high school students at Fat Duck Farm.

2005 – EPA/NMED 319 grant for watershed restoration on the upper Pecos river.

2005 – Organic Farming Research Foundation grant to study the effects

of rotational grazing on soil fertility.

2005 – Tierra y Montes Soil and Water Conservation district

"Outstanding Conservation Farmer of the Year" award.

2004 – USDA Conservation Innovation Grant awarded from a national pool of

applicants to install photovoltaics and hydronic solar heating on a small farm.

2003 – NRCS Environmental Quality Incentives Program award for

installation of an efficient drip and sprinkler irrigation system.
